Day 14 - Saying Good-Bye and Hello Again!!!!

Rise 'n Shine!  Time to say good-bye to the Kemps and hello to the Chicken Bus!  Wahoo!  LOL  Both things brings tears to your eyes!  LOL  Only kidding, we are actually getting used to the Chicken Bus...who'd da thunk!?!??!  Scenes from the bus...

Caskets are entombed above ground...

We jumped off the bus into a taxi on the side of the road and headed to the airport!  We were flying stand-by and were hoping to have a seat available...so guess where we are?!??!  You're right...in Belize because there weren't enough seats!  LOL  I was a little frustrated because it was so tiring having to go thru security and immigration, and now we have to do it all again....TOMORROW!!!!!  The gate agent said that the flight tomorrow didn't look good either, so it looks like we're buying tickets home!

Fortunately, the couple that we met in Big Falls, Jordyn and Danielle, told us about the hotel they stayed in near the airport called The Global Village, so we knew where to head.

As we were leaving out of the airport we ran into Collette our very first cab driver on this trip.  He introduced us to a brother who was also a cab driver.  Now, when we were in Ladyville the first day we were told that the meeting was on Saturday at 5pm.  I asked the cab driver brother and he said yes 5pm.  Okay...the meeting is Saturday at 5pm, right????  NOT!!!!

We head to the hotel and were able to get a room.  Very clean and free Wifi!  We go to linner (lunch and dinner) and then we ask for a right to the Kingdom Hall.  We get there about 20 minutes early....CRIKETS!!!!  Okay, this is Belize, they may not arrive as early.....CRICKETS!!!  Remember we have no cell phone!!!! We were just dropped off!!!!!  What are we going to do?!??!?!  You said it....PRAY!!!!!!

So there was a phone number on the building, so Gordon stopped a guy walking and asked to use his phone, he obliged.  There was a brother there and we thought he was going to come out....NOPE!!!!  We think that he called the number back instead...yea...that guy was long gone!  So we wait...and wait...what are we going to do?!?!?  We ask different people walking past to use their phones, but no one has phone credits!!!!  Ugh!!!!!

I am praying to myself..."Jehovah please send someone to help us...to tell us what is going on."  So there was a girl jogging past us, but she had headphones on and was across the street!  Gordon said that it was probably best for me to approach the women to ask for a phone...by this time she was gone...so here comes a girl riding toward us on a bicycle, so I wave her down, "Excuse me do you have a phone!?!??!"  "Yes", she said.  "Can we please use it to call to see what time the meeting starts?!??!"  "Oh, I don't have any credits!" Gordon then chimes in and asks, "Are you coming back this way?"  He was going to give her money to put credits on her phone (desperation right?!??!  LOL)  She said (as I chuckle to myself as I'm typing), "yes, I have to get ready for the meeting!"  I yell out..."You're a Witness?!?!??!"  "Yes, the meeting starts at 6:00!"  We laughed and yelled, and I told her that she was an answer to a prayer!  LOL  Thank you Jehovah!  He has taken care of us this whole trip!  It may seem like something small, but it was several miles back to the hotel and was getting dark....

Her name was Karla and she is my new friend!  LOL

...with her sister Jasmine!

So now I'm feeling good because Jehovah answered a prayer and I expressed to him when I originally prayed that I was working hard to exercise more faith in him during this venture, Gordon is recovering from the emotional roller coaster!  Then we see a truck pull up and a brother hops out a opens the gate...who's in the back of the truck...you guessed it!  Keanu!  He was with his grandmother Sister Vernon!

We finally get inside the Kingdom Hall!  It was nice and cool and air conditioned and the doors were kept closed during the meeting!  LOL  And no bugs.....wait I take that back and will get back to that in a minute....

I was speaking to Keanu's grandmom and asked her if he had told her that he saw us two weeks earlier.  She said yes, and told me this story...."We were at the assembly and he begins to cough because he has asthma, so I sent him out for sweet so that he can stop coughing.  When he came back he said grandmom my cough all better now!  I said, why?  He said guess who I just saw...Brother Hill!  So I said, tell the truth!  He said I am, I saw his wife waving and Brother Hill got out of the car, and I ran and hugged him!  So I told him, see they didn't forget you!"  I wanted to cry!

There was a sister, Sister Robertson, sitting behind us with her kids.  Now you know Gordon, he had to mess with the kids!  He took the one little girls bag of chips and started walking away, and then he popped the other little girl in the head.  When the meeting started, I looked and they were across the hall...he ran them off!  SMH

Keanu decided that he wanted to sit with us at the meeting.  But before the meeting we see Azeal...well who we thought was Azeal!  We were hugging him and everything!  Azeal is a young brother who we met during our visit in December!

So it's time for the meeting to start and who walks in....the real Azeal!  Gordon and I was cracking up!

During the meeting it was so cute.  It was our first Kriol meeting, and we understood most.  Keanu was helping us.  He told Gordon that he had to talk louder and put his mouth closer to the microphone.  With me, he saw that I was cold so he took my hand and tried to warm it.  Then he layed his head on my arm.  He is such a sweetheart!  He was commenting left and right.  At first he was sitting next to Gordon, and then when Gordon went to the bathroom he moved in between us!  LOL  The during the last prayer, he grabbed our hand and squeezed it!  We just love him!

After the meeting, we were able to see Brother Rayburn and Azeal's mom and sister, Marlene and Crystal!  We also met a sister named Ramona who we just wanted to bring home.  And Steven the brother that we met on the first day, we met his wife and his two kids who were just baptized (ages 15 and 11)!  In fact, a sister took them to Caye Caulker for the meeting for a special treat!  Guess who gave the talk that day?!?!?  You guessed!  Gordon!!!!  They even made it in our group photo that day, I have to go back and check!

We met the sister in the orange, we butchered her name so bad, that we gave her a new nickname...Mimi!

A great visit!  Back to the hotel we go!  Good night!
